LeRoy
Plastics offers twin and multiple line bonding of extruded plastic
tubing. Our process uses heat instead of the typical solvents or
adhesives, which could possibly leach into and eventually degrade
certain types of plastic. Our size capabilities range from 1/8"
to 1" diameter tubing or hose. This division is capable of
bonding extruded plastic tubing and hose from any common plastic
material family available in two, three and right up to ten tube
custom configurations, for pennies per foot in most cases.

Being the first company to actually design and build
the bonding equipment in house, we have the luxury of adapting a machine
to your custom needs in a matter of minutes. We stock complete multiple
sets of fractional and metric sized tooling used to join any two tubes
together as well as several different configurations and sizes of material.
Four individual production lines give us the flexibility to meet your
immediate needs, no matter the order size. This is an extreme advantage
when systems requiring individual line designation, easily achieved
by color coding or printing of tubes, are in need of material within
a short lead-time. Another advantage of bonded tubing is the clean outer
wall surface of the tube, which allows easy separation and clean, leak
proof connections to most any quick connect or sleeved compression fitting.
LeRoy
Plastics offers three different bonding styles for you to choose
from.
|
-
Strippable Bond - This bond is continuous from one end of a length
to the other. Average separation force is about 15 lb. Tubes will stop
separating when there is no longer any pressure trying to split them.
Once separated, this style of bond leaves a very thin seam where the
bond has occurred, this normally does not effect use of quick connect
fittings which require the exterior surface of any tube to be free of
flaws.
- Permanent Bond - This bond is continuous from one end of a
length to the other. Most ideal for bonded tubes when there can be no
chance of separation. Often used for bonding plastic coated cable to
a multi tube assembly where the cable supports the entire tube assembly
as well as the suspended attachments. Also common where two or more
tubes are routed around tight corners and tied down in several different
positions, or when manufacturing a custom multi line recoil.
- Intermittent Bond - This bond is exclusively offered by LeRoy
Plastics as another method of time and cost savings. The bond is permanent,
but has measured intervals with gaps where no bond has taken place,
thus there is no need for separation or splitting back the tubes wherever
it is cut. Ideal when using compression fittings to guarantee a leak
proof seal. Also eliminates scrap for cutting different lengths from
large spools of bonded tubing. All our machines come equipped to offer
intermittent bond in the following two configurations; 24" of bond
with 6" gaps or 6" of bond with 6" gaps. Other custom
configurations are quickly and easily tooled and then implemented in
our modern bonding division.
